The CCBA offers a yearly beginner beekeeping course that continues for 9 weeks, meeting weekly. Scroll to the bottom of this page to find details about our next class.
Some things you'll learn in the class include:
History of beekeeping
Equipment and products involved in beekeeping
Getting started in beekeeping
Managing hives safely
How to retrieve and process honey
How to "think like a bee"
At the conclusion of the class, participants will be able to attend our annual field day where you can look inside an active hive, meet other beekeepers, play games, and even watch an artificial swarm. Click here to see some photos from our previous field day. The class and field day will provide you with all the knowledge needed to pass the state "Certified Beekeeper" exam. All instructors of this class are certified by the state association.

$43/person which includes the 9 week course, First Lessons in Beekeeping book, field day, and 2022 membership to the CCBA.
Every Tuesday from 7:00pm -9:00pm beginning February 1st and ending March 29th.
